Programme outline

The ILM Level 5 S/NVQ in Management is suitable for senior managers with a high degree of autonomy for deploying resources and achieving strategic goals. They assess knowledge and understanding of key activities relating to a manager’s role, as well as facilitating the development of skills to improve personal effectiveness.

Candidates are required to take seven units: four mandatory units plus three out of a choice of 21 optional units.

Candidates may progress to postgraduate management qualifications, including MBAs, or may wish to extend their study via:

  • ILM (new NQF) Level 5 Award or Certificate in Leadership
  • ILM Level 7 (NQF) Diploma in Leadership Mentoring and Executive Coaching
  • ILM Level 5 S/NVQ in Personnel Strategy
  • NVQ Level 5 in Volunteer Management.

Candidates who achieve the ILM Level 5 S/NVQ in Management will be eligible to apply for ILM Member status (MInstLM).
