National [General] Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health of the National Examinations Board for Occupational Safety and Health [NEBOSH] Aim of the CourseThis course prepares students for the NEBOSH qualification at Certificate level. Successful students will be eligible for Associate Membership of IOSH [The Institute for Occupational Safety and Health]. Who should attend?The course is open to all students, but is particularly suitable for those with supervisory experience or responsibilities in a Health and Safety environment. Students may wish to visit www.nebosh.org.uk for syllabus information and past exam papers, and be prepared for the intensive academic demands of this course, by ensuring they are in possession of a pre-course reading book: Introduction to Health & Safety at Work by Philip Hughes and Ed Ferret, ISBN: 0750666234, published by Butterworth. Course Duration12 days. It is an intensive, formal classroom study and is supplemented by directed study, background reading, etc in the evenings and at weekends. The end-of-course examination consists of two, 2 hour written papers and a workshop based practical examination.
